William, the Duke of Pelham, lives his life the way he thinks a Duke should. He takes it to the extreme, though, following a very strict schedule, having a very suitable fiance, and avoiding the more naughty sides of London society. His structured life is interrupted when he is linked to Juliette, one of London's most famous courtesans. Rumor has it she has become his lover.
Juliette was given the nickname Duchess of Dalliance by the Prince. She has worked hard at cultivating a persona that keeps her popular among the ton. But she is not all that she appears.
William most definitely wants nothing to do with Juliette, but now that they have been linked, both their lives get more complicated and to their surprise, dangerous.
William and Juliette have very opposite personalities and, especially in the beginning, they fight about everything. But as they get to know each other, they find they have quite a bit in common. William's stuck up personality is very extreme, and at first a little annoying. But I ended up really liking his character. There's a reason he acts the way he does and Juliette is able to help him relax and have some fun. William also ends up helping Juliette with her own insecurities.
This book was fun and a great start to a new series by Galen.
