I like the idea of a 2,000 year old druid living in Tempe Arizona and running an occult bookstore. Atticus can be a little immature, which made me roll my eyes a bit while reading, but now that I have had a couple days to think about it, it is kind of refreshing. Characters who live a really really long time tend to be serious, even depressed. They have seen too much cruelty in the world or have seen too many of their friends and family die or they are just bored. Atticus takes his magic, the earth, and his and his dog's safety very seriously, but everything else he takes in stride and with humor. Maybe that would be the best way to keep your sanity living for that long? I guess I need my centuries old vampires serious or at least mature, and will give my druids some slack.
